In the Flow

Tags :

Lately, I have felt more in the flow.

Dedicating more of my time to self-love, self-trust and self-worth has seen me focus on my writing projects, and attend to the daily “must-do’s” in a state of relative ease, grace and joy. This is not to say I haven’t had to face challenges.

Self-trust felt forced upon me as we struggled to find a house to rent. I had to learn to let go of what I had no control over. It’s not as if I didn’t know there is a divine time for all things, it was at another level of understanding and acceptance. No matter what I did, it wasn’t going to happen any faster! And surrendering was truly liberating.

Eventually, after a whirl of seeming lies and deceit from multiple real estate agents, we found a private rental and breathed a sigh of relief. Though we did have to extend our lease by one week, while our new landlord prepared our new abode. This caused another hiccup where we couldn’t move in over the course of a weekend and could only do this on a Monday. Add to this that it was Thomas’ first day back at Uni after his semester break, and I felt frazzled. Brad and I, though, dug deep and got it done. And the best part was our new house was beautifully presented… it’s the first rental home I haven’t had to clean!

Self-love then arose when rest became a priority to recuperate. It was also time to purchase those new sunglasses that I wrote about in one of my previous blog posts. This resulted in being asked when I’d last had my eyes checked. ‘Hmm… too long, like nine or ten years ago.’

I knew one eye was worse than the other, yet I wasn’t aware that I had a common condition called Blepharitis that made my eyes itchy, blurry, and at times pooled and ran as if I had a blocked tear duct. Thankfully, it is easy enough to treat this and will take less than six weeks to break the parasite’s life cycle. As for being able to read… I was so excited when I looked through the right lens at the optometrist and could see the bottom row of letters. Yippee, I can see!

Here I am with my first pair of reading glasses. I’m told it’s an age thing, and nothing to do with my vocation 😉

Self-worth got my attention when delivering my latest Write to Know Self sessions. These gatherings truly make my heart sing with joy. Yet, over the past four years of presenting these, the number of people attending hadn’t increased, despite my marketing efforts. Add to this an inner desire to expand, and a voice within me that said I could reach more people if I took it online, and I heeded the call to change.

There’s a quote that accurately represents this…

Work smarter, not harder!

Being in the flow ensures I listen to my guidance and take action when required, be true to self and honour my knowing. If I may assist you with your flow, please let me know.

Have you been aware of any, or all, of the trio of self-attributes lately? I look forward to reading about your experiences in the comments below.

Thank you for reading and sharing in this wondrous adventure called life. May you sparkle bright and shine your light.

Self Aspects (part 2)

Tags :

What has life been like for you this past week? For me it’s been about letting go of past patterns and behaviours that no longer serve me, realising I’ve not been ‘walking my talk’… AND I’ve been ‘shifting the goal posts’!

Welcome to Self Aspects (part 2)…

My mental chatter was a large part of the problem. You’re no doubt aware of those thoughts that seem to sneakily replay over and over, and before you know it you’re on the twentieth round of thinking that same negative thought. And by the twentieth time Divine Source/God is listening and going, ‘Oh, okay, so you’d like to experience that would you?’

‘No! Stop! Wait!’

Then there’s the initial thought or idea that you might like ‘X’ and you focus on it and dream about it, but then ‘Y’ comes into the picture and your attention moves to that. Soon the ‘Z’ scenario appears and you’re off on another tangent. Meanwhile Divine Source/God is listening and saying, ‘So you said you wanted that… but wait, hang on, then you said you wanted this, and now…’

Oh dear 🙁

As for ‘walking my talk’, my iPhone phone recently overheated and shut down (again!) In previous instances, once the device had cooled it was able to be rebooted, but not this time. I contacted Apple only to discover it was outside the one year warranty and would cost me a princely sum to get it serviced, even though I was still bound by my contract repayment. My instant reaction was to do what I’d always done and feel disappointed, wonder where I was going to get the money, look at it as my karma, and the old fave, ‘what could I do to get out of it?’

If I had been ‘walking my talk’ I would have accepted my phone had a dud battery and a hardware problem. To repair or replace would incur a fee and the process would be painless and rectified quickly. The outgoing cost would be offset by my income stream – the process simply a cycle of cause and effect. Having taken action with trust and faith in a power greater than me, would then allow me to focus my energy on more important things.

The mental aspect of Self can feel like one of the hardest tasks to master. It takes skills like observation (without judgement), awareness, listening, stillness and patience, not to mention practice! When we are aware of where our thoughts are at any given time, and we stop and change a negative or worrisome thought to one of positivity, or we release the worry and allow it to be taken care of by Divine Source/God, we embody more light, feel empowered and are using our energy wisely.

However, we are never working solely on one aspect of Self. While the mental chatter was a large proportion of the above issues, I was also made aware of limited beliefs which no longer served me. As always, to heal these involves a most gracious act of heartfelt gratitude and forgiveness, after which I feel lighter and brighter.

Have you been letting go, walking your talk, or shifting the goal posts? If you have a story you’d like to share, please leave your comment below.

Self Aspects (part 1)

Tags :

The theme of this past week from friends and clients has been about the self. Whether that be self-preservation or talking about what is self and selfish, what’s been evident is more and more people are tuning in and awakening to their self aspects.

There are many self aspects, both positive and negative with each either raising our vibration or lowering it. When one resonates to a higher vibration they feel lighter in their physical, mental and emotional bodies. They feel empowered, confident and have the clarity and the energy to deal with any given situation they may find themselves in, and their outlook on life is positive. The opposite is true for a lower vibration.

Considering the self aspects led me to feel inspired to write a poem. It is my intent you may resonate with one or all of the lines, words and sentiments. If you do, or even if you don’t, I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂

Self sets the limits

Self renews

Within Self lay the answers

To Self one must be true

Self sacrifices

Self’ish acts

Self sabotages

and Self reacts

Connect… Re-unite with Self

Be led to your Self authenticity

For something a little different, I’d like to suggest a game. Make a list of all the self aspects you can think of and let us know how many you came up with. The person with the longest list will receive a Sound Reiki® alignment, chakra balancing and grounding session (in person or via phone, Skype or absently) to the value of $100 (for subscribers only – offer ends Saturday 16th August 2014).

Here’s five ‘self’ words to get you started… self-satisfied, self-loathing, self-assured, self-doubt, self-love… have some fun and enjoy 🙂

Write to Heal and make your mark for life is worth living.
